Motorcycle accident claims life of a 54-year-old woman on Paul Kruger Highway

A 54-year-old woman riding a motorcycle died after a crash with a bakkie at the intersection of the Paul Kruger Highway and South Main Reef Road.

A motorcycle accident on August 9 at the intersection of the Paul Kruger Highway and South Main Reef Road resulted in the death of a woman (54).

According to the EMPD, when their officers arrived, they found a badly damaged black and white Big Boy motorcycle next to a white Toyota Hilux bakkie.

They later established that the motorcycle rider was the woman who had succumbed to her injuries after the crash.

The owner of the bakkie, a 65-year-old man, was unscathed but was treated on-site for shock.

The EMPD said it was unclear what occurred before the collision.

The Springs SAPS opened a case of culpable homicide for further investigation.
