Man arrested for assaulting EMPD officer
The man was arrested after an altercation with an officer.
On Sunday, EMPD Bronberg precinct officers arrested a 26-year-old man after an altercation with one of their officers in the Springs area.
According to a report, while the officers were conducting their normal duties, they came across a suspicious group of men at the corner of Magaliesburg and Octonica streets.
The members approached the group and asked to search them. The men agreed to be searched, except for the suspect who started cursing at the officers.
One of the officers approached to search him and the suspect aggressively pushed the officer to the ground and physically assaulted him.
The man was arrested and charged with common assault and crimen injuria. He was detained at the Springs Police Station.
