SPCA appeals to the community for donations

Any and all donations are welcome.

The Springs SPCA is appealing to the community for donations for its charity shop. With the arrival of winter, they have run low on essentials for the cold months.

“The shop can use anything that’s sellable. This includes kitchen goods, clothes, toys and basically anything that would be an interesting purchase,” said Mandie Foreman, the operations supervisor for the SPCA.

Foreman added that people aren’t aware of the value their pre-loved items bring to the lives of others.

“When people do some cleaning, they come across items they no longer have a need for. Well, we have a need for that,” she said.

The shop is also in need of school study guides.

“The income generated from our shop assists us greatly in the daily running of our branch,” remarked Foreman.

She also adds that they are always in need of pet food.

Donations can be dropped off at the SPCA premises at the corner of Ermelo and Townsend roads, Strubenvale, or the Springs Advertiser offices.

Collections can also be arranged.
