Pollak Park Golf Club celebrates the first lady to receive the synonymous green jacket

Over the long weekend, Pollak Park Golf Club held its annual masters competition.

The Pollak Park Golf Club recently held events that they regard as historical milestones for the club.

In one of the prestigious competitions, they crowned Debbie Visagie as the first lady member to win the Masters Green Jacket competition and the Masters Par 3 competition.

The green jacket, according to club member Merlene Nel, is the pinnacle of golf success.

“A golfer wearing this single-breasted, single-vent garment has achieved at the Masters Tournament,” said Merlene.

The jackets were first worn by Augusta National Golf Club members in 1937.

Merlene stated that golf clubs all over the world run a similar competition for their members during the same time as the Masters Tournament at Augusta.

The competition’s results are as follows:

In the Wacky Wednesday, Gerhard Gibson won with 38 points. In the Par 3 Masters and Masters Green Jacket, Debbie Visagie won with 20.5 points and 43 points.

On Saturday in the IPS Competition, Ruaan van der Merwe took first place at 44 points. In second place, Debbie Visagie got 43 points and Bruce Carlyon took third place at 39 points (oco).

2 Club winners:
Ruaan van der Merwe, Dewies van Deventer, Mike Chandler, Johan Terblanche, Andy Wehmeyer, Dudley Palmer, Ewen Sim, Justin Cunha and Bazil Houdoulas. The lucky draw was won by Steve Malloy.
