Springs parkrun a wet affair as runners take part despite the rain

You can never go wrong with a bit of exercise and meeting new people.

The Springs parkrun is held every Saturday at 08:00.

The entrance is free of charge for everyone.

Runners and walkers of all ages can register at Presidents Park before the run/walk – just get there with your phone and dedicated parkrun members will help.

Bring your loved ones for some healthy fun and meet new people.

Last week had only 48 parkrunners and walkers due to the weather conditions.

Last week’s rankings and their times:
Females
1. Michelle Slabbert 27:17
2. Chenique Goosen 32:03
3. Marcelle Brener 36:35

Males
1. Hennie Greyling 20:48
2. Willie Palmer 21:54
3. Xhola Mncitha 23:14

On November 19, Springs parkrun turns six. Everyone is invited to wear a birthday hat, tutu or birthday outfit for the auspicious occasion.

The organisers also ask that participants bring a tin of pet food or dry pet food as they want to use the birthday event to donate to the Springs SPCA.
