Toastmasters International brings confidence to those who struggle with public speaking

"Nothing beats storytelling during an unprepared speech. It's your story and you are narrating it." Paul Moloi

Toastmasters International had their first in-person meeting for the first time in two years on October 19 at Impala HRD.

The session was an introductory talk for those who struggle with public speaking and giving speeches.

There were different sessions in place to give newcomers a feel of how the programme works. Two Toastmasters delivered prepared speeches.

Unprepared speeches came next following a brief recess. The volunteers were made to pick a number which presented them with different topics to discuss.

They were then given a specific time to address the topic; all speeches were timed by the timekeeper. Critical feedback was given to the speakers in order to help them become better speakers in the next sitting.

There were awards for the best speakers. Refreshments were served.
