Springs dominate rivals

Brakpan thrashed in clash with Springs.

An incredible second-half performance by Springs Rugby Club’s first team put the entire Valke Peregrine League on notice.
Springs beat CCC Brakpan Rugby Club 52-9 in Brakpan when they displayed top-class forward dominance in the away match.
Trailing 9-7 at halftime, the visitors showed that they will be a strong contender in the league by scoring 45 unanswered points in the second period to leave a club that is regarded as a traditional foe well-beaten.
Springs’ forward dominance was unbelievable on the day as they ran in eight tries to none to make a statement.

Brakpan may be known for a strong backline but the local side’s pack of forwards made sure that they starved their opponents off the ball as they created one try-scoring opportunity after another.
Winning the forward battle in rugby is often regarded as an opportunity to dominate and Springs did this in brutal fashion in the second half against a good team.
This performance will have the likes of North-West University and Vereeniging taking notice of what they are capable of given what they managed to do to a club that has often been their greatest rival in the past.
