Strubenvale resident Petrus van Schalkwyk is stuck with a sewage disaster at his house and has grown frustrated with the metro’s lack of action.
According to van Schalkwyk, sewage has been spilling out of the drains in his yard for more than two weeks.
Sewage spills out of the drains surrounding his house and has almost flooded his home.
“It’s impossible to live with this.
“I have dogs and I fear for their health at this point,” said van Schalkwyk.

Van Schalkwyk has had no luck with the metro either.
“I have called them hundreds of times, but I get nowhere.
“Lately, they just put the phone down in my ear,” he said.
Hiring plumbers has become a useless endeavour for him as it only presents a temporary solution.
“A hire them, pay a fortune, only for the sewage to return two days later,” he said.
