Graduation Day at Nokuphila

“We had a challenging year in 2020 and are grateful that this year was not bad as we thought it would be.”

Daycare Nokuphila Community Services recently held its graduation ceremony.
Phetheni Maseko, principal of the daycare situated in Selection Park, said they develop children from two years until Grade R.
“We are funded by the Department of Social Development and the GDE. On this day we are celebrating the graduation ceremony of 53 learners who are progressing to the primary level. We have qualified teachers from Grade R, where there are three classes and we accommodate only 20 learners,” said Maseko.
Learners showcased all the knowledge they have acquired during the year at the ceremony.

“They showed to their parents that they are fully developed and ready to go to school. We are happy that all parents supported this occasion.
“We had a challenging year in 2020 and are grateful that this year was not bad as we thought it would be. We had been strict in following all the protocols to protect our children at the school. We are happy that we did not even get a Covid case at our school,” said Maseko.
They can accommodate up to 149 learners at the school. Last year their numbers dropped to 57 due to Covid-19.
Maseko is grateful that this year parents trusted them with their children.
