Hijackers strike outside phamarcy

The victim and two other occupants stopped at the pharmacy along Nigel Road to buy medication.

A man was robbed of his bakkie as he left a pharmacy in Selcourt on Sunday evening.
The victim and two other occupants stopped at the pharmacy along Nigel Road to buy medication.
“Two of them went inside and the other one remained in the Toyota Hilux double cab bakkie. When they were about to leave, they were confronted by three suspects.
“Two of the suspects were armed and ordered two of the victims to sit in the back,” explained Capt Johannes Ramphora, communications officer at the Springs Police Station.

It is alleged one of the passengers managed to escape.
“The suspects drove around with them. They also demanded money, bank cards and the cards’ PINs.
“The victim claims he gave them his wallet with bank cards, driver’s licence, ID, medical aid card and cash of R7 500,” added Ramphora.
The victims were then dropped off in an open veld in Dersley.
While no shots were fired, one of the victims sustained injuries to his forehead.
