Tonk Meter celebrates recovery

The community really came together and it was great to see.

The Tonk Meter Crossing Shopping Centre celebrated their recovery after many shops in the country were looted  in July.

The celebrations took place on Saturday morning and many showed up to celebrate.

The centre is proud to announce that 90% of their stores are open for business once again, thanks to the help of their community.

Many tenants of Kwa-Thema stepped up to aid the recovery and the event organiser, Carolynn Weedon, thanked them all for their efforts on behalf of the shopping centre.

Rain threatened to spoil all the fun activities for the day and everyone had to be moved inside, where children were treated to a magic show.

However, the sun soon came out and the planned activities, including a soccer game, wall climbing, paper plane competitions, building three-metre puzzles and obstacle courses, could be carried out.

“The community really came together and it was great to see. I see new and exciting things awaiting this shopping centre in the future,” said Weedon.
