Business robbery on Sixth Street

Police later found two projectiles and one 9mm cartridge on the scene.

A man was left with injuries after he was shot in the face during a business robbery on Sixth Street last Tuesday evening.
A witness told police two robbers walked into a bed-and-breakfast and requested a room for the night.
The receptionist told the robbers it would be R250 each and the men responded by demanding R1 000 from her.

Hearing the conversation, the receptionist’s boyfriend came out of one of the nearby rooms and the robbers fired two shots towards him.
One of them hit the boyfriend in the face, near the chin, and the robbers fled the scene on foot.
Police later found two projectiles and one 9mm cartridge on the scene.
The receptionist and her boyfriend were rushed to Far East Rand Hospital.
