Help model to triumph in beauty pageant
“As a product of Ekurhuleni, I'm beyond excited to represent my people and home."
Born and bred in Springs, 25-year old Matshidiso Mokgotho is a nurse, model and motivational speaker.
Mokgotho bagged the title of Miss Boksburg in 2020 in her first time competing in a beauty pageant.
She is a finalist in Miss Regal International South Africa 2021, representing Ekurhuleni.
“As a product of Ekurhuleni, I’m beyond excited to represent my people and home.
They say it takes a village to raise a child, and the City of Ekurhuleni raised me. This is my thank you.
“My parents encouraged me to focus on my education first. After I obtained my honours degree in nursing sciences from the University of Pretoria, I decided it was the best time to start competing in beauty contests,” said Mokgotho.

She stated she has always had a passion for pageantry and believes her profession as a nurse goes hand in hand with modelling.
Mokgotho wishes to win the Miss Regal title.
“Modelling is not only about winning and being a beauty queen, it is also about giving back to the community. Being crowned Miss Regal International South Africa 2021 would be the highest honour.

“As a professional nurse, I come across a variety of gender-based violence (GBV) cases every day. GBV and abuse are a reality. I’m happy that there are organisations like Miss Regal and People Opposing Women Abuse who want to help victims, raise awareness and most importantly, end the silence.
“I want to be part of that change,” said Mokgotho.
The frontline worker plans to contest in Miss South Africa in the near future.
