A joint operation between the Springs SAPS and the EMPD’s Equestrian Unit resulted in the arrest of one man and the confiscation of R30 000, last Wednesday.
The operation, held in Everest informal settlement, was led by Col Rajesh Ramlall.

Police suspect the money found in the man’s possession during his arrest are the proceeds of dealing in precious metals.
Police also seized equipment used to process precious metals.
The man will face charges of illegal mining, possession of precious metals and dealing in precious metals.
