Loureika Viviers impresses judges with acting skills

If their response is positive, the budding actress will attend five acting workshops.

Loureika Viviers from Olympia Park School has grabbed the attention of Associate Students (AS) Productions with her talent in the dramatic arts.
Her skills were noted at the Carpe Diem Eisteddfod, which took place in July and August.
The Olympia Park learner impressed the judges with her excellent talent in dramatic expression.
To prepare for the event, Loureika had to choose a poem, which described an important cultural event.

She had to learn the poem by heart and added a dramatic flair to bring across the meaning and significance of the poem.
Loureika recorded herself performing the poem and sent it to ABS Productions, where she was chosen out of 3 000 entries.
On Saturday, she auditioned with actor Bradley Olivier, who plays the role of Danny Jantjies from the hit Afrikaans show Binnelanders at Die Blou Hond Theatre in Pretoria.

She said the audition went well and she feels confident in her performance.
Her acting teacher, Karika Engelbrecht, is proud of how Loureika has made use of her performing skills.
