Police warn of robbers posing as home affairs officials
Residents are warned there is no such initiative and are encouraged not to allow strangers into their homes.
Police have urged residents to be alert following reports that a group of robbers are pretending to be officials from home affairs to gain access to homes.
According to information received from the SAPS, the perpetrators have documents with the Department of Home Affairs letterhead and claim to be confirming that everyone has a valid ID for the upcoming elections.
Residents are warned there is no such initiative and are encouraged not to allow strangers into their homes.
Should you be approached by these “officials”, report it to your nearest police station.
