Women hijacked after stopping for a bathroom break

The vehicle was later found abandoned in Etwatwa.

Two women were hijacked on Rhokana Road in Seclourt while on their way home from a nightclub in Kwa-Thema last Tuesday evening.

Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora said the victim was driving home with her friend when they saw a car following them.

Even when the lights of the vehicle following them was switched off they thought nothing of it.

They then stopped near a street light for the victim’s friend to relieve herself.

This is when a white Haval SUV stopped close to their vehicle and two men, each armed with a pistol, got out.

One of the men immediately went to the driver’s side of the victim’s car while the other approached the women and asked for their cellphones, which the pair informed him were in the car.

The man sitting in the driver’s seat of the victim’s car asked for the keys and after she handed them over, he struggled to start the car.

She was then forced to show him how to start the car and release the handbrake.

The men then forced the women to kneel, facing different directions, before driving off.
