Following a hectic year that has been 2020, why not unwind this festive season with great new reads?
The following list is a collection of African Literature books by African authors across the continent.
Try one of these books:
• Things Fall Apart by Nigerian author Chinua Achebe. This is a fiction based on the pre-colonial life in the south eastern part of Nigeria.
• Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. The novel is about a young woman who struggles to assert her identity in a patriarchal culture.
• Disgrace by Maxwell Coetzee. This book won the Booker Prize and the author won the Nobel Prize in literature four years after its publication.
