Pensioners robbed of cash during home invasion

A 93-year-old man and his wife were tied up with neckties during a house robbery in Selcourt, last Friday afternoon.

Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says the victim had just arrived home and was on his way to close the gate when he was suddenly approached by two men.

The pair grabbed the victim and demanded his car keys, which he eventually handed over after some resistance.

Once she had opened the door, the robbers pushed the couple into their bedroom and tied them up using the victim’s neckties.
