The metro has announced that parts of Springs will be without power from 8am to 6pm on Thursday (16 July).
The affected areas are New Era, Wright Park, Pollak Park, Dal Fouche, Fulcrum, Springs Extension, Reedville and Fulcrum/Dal Fouché/Rietfontein reservoirs.
The outage is for the metro to do urgent maintenance work.

“Work to restore power will be undertaken with the intention of restoring power to the affected area.
“No guarantee can, however, be given that this deadline will be met.
“Work will continue until the urgent maintenance work has been completed.
“All electrical networks and equipment shall be regarded as being electrically alive at all times while the maintenance is performed.
“The Ekurhuleni metro apologises for any inconvenience caused,” says metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe.
