Illegal dental surgery shut down

Three arrested after police discover illegal dental surgery.

Springs police shut down an illegal dental surgery on Third Street last Thursday afternoon.

Springs police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says police received a tip-off from the public about illegal activity that was taking place in the surgery.

On arrival at the dental surgery, police found various staff members from South Africa and other African countries.

Police recovered a dental laboratory on the premises.

Three suspects were arrested as per Section 17 (1)(a) Health Professions Act 56 of 1974, fraudulent documents and running an illegal laboratory.

Suspects were detained at Springs Client Service Centre.
