Husband and wife tied up during Selcourt break-in

The husband managed to untie himself and grabbed one of the suspects and tried to overpower him, but the other suspects noticed what was happening and fired a shot into the ground next to him.

A victim received a nasty surprise when he went out for a smoke outside his home and found four suspects in the yard in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Springs Police spokesperson Capt Johannes Ramphora says the suspects, who were all wearing balaclavas, forced the victim back into the house and tied him and his wife together with an electric cable and forced them to lie down.

The suspects then ransacked the house.
