Late-night accident leaves one dead in Pansy Avenue
“The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations,” says Ineke van Huyssteen, ER24 spokesperson.
A man was killed and another injured following a collision on Pansy Avenue in Welgedacht on Sunday evening.
ER24 paramedics came across the scene at approximately 10pm where they found two vehicles.
Upon further assessment, they found a man lying next to the road and another from the second vehicle, seated next to him.
The man lying next to the road had sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on the scene.

The other man sustained moderate injuries.
“It is believed that the one vehicle was broken down next to the road and that the other vehicle collided with it.
“The driver of the broken-down vehicle was apparently outside the vehicle when he was knocked down and killed.
“ER24 transported the the other man to hospital for further medical care.
