Food, laptops stolen from Dunnottar Kindergarten

Damage to the door frame suggests that the door was kicked or forced open in some way.

Dunnottar Kindergarten was broken into on Tuesday night.

When school principal Benedictor Sefelo arrived at the school on Wednesday morning, she was dismayed to see the kitchen door and one window open, despite having locked everything the previous night.

It is assumed the suspects gained access to the property by cutting a hole in the fence, which has since been fixed.

Damage to the door frame suggests that the door was kicked or forced open in some way.

The window frame suffered similar damage.

When Sefelo went inside she saw the pots from the kitchen were missing and the fridge as well as the freezer had been raided of all its contents.

In addition, the suspects stole containers of prepared meals and bags of sugar from the pantry.

The suspects also broke locks to gain access to the office, where they stole laptops.

The suspects raided the school’s fridge.

“This all came as a big shock to us.

“The parents are also very concerned, but some were very kind and gave us some pots to cook with,” says Sefelo.

Sefelo called Dunnottar police, who have sampled fingerprints and have opened a case.

The police told Sefelo the fingerprint results will take about two weeks to process.

The police were unavailable for comment.
