Hyacinth problem on Presidents Dam

The hyacinth is a problem as it is an alien plant and it poisons all life that is underneath it, depriving the fish of their food and leading to death.

The Advertiser received a complaint on Facebook about municipality workers not cleaning up the hyacinths growing on the Presidents Dam.

The complainant stated that the workers do not do their jobs and just sit around.

The dam is plagued by hyacinths, and rubbish and glass bottles are littered on the surrounding grass.
