• There will be a Dino-mite birthday bash for the Springs Mall’s second birthday. The biggest animatronic T-rex in Africa will be guarding the mall and other dinosaurs will be found throughout the mall. Included in the fun are fossil digging pits, fun activities and the University of the Witwatersrand’s fossil display. There will also be supersize specials.

• A new resident hairdresser will commence her services at the Springs Senior Citizen Club every Wednesday. The centre is situated at 1A Seventh Street North, Springs CBD. Contact Merle Mackenzie on 011 811 1700.

April 5

• There will be a R5 jumble sale at St Michael’s Presbyterian Church, 7th Street, Springs (opposite Senior Citizens Club) from 9am to 2pm. All clothes will be sold at R5 per item. April 5 and 6

• The Amor Vittone Road Show with Dance Directions will be at Little Paradise for a fund-raising event for young up-and-coming dancers on April 6. There will also be a flea market (from April 5) and stands are available for everyone who would like to come and sell their goods. Set up will begin at 12noon and the flea market will run from 2pm to 10pm on Friday and 10am to 10pm on Saturday. April 6

• Join Abbott and Crabb in concert on the banks of the Blesbokspruit at 44 Newby Road, Grootvaly. Bring your picnic hamper, drinks and camping chairs and enjoy a blast from the past. • Miniature showcase at Parkhurst Recreation Centre on the corner of 13th Street and 5th Avenue, Parkhurst, starting at 9am. Miniatures, dollhouse accessories and supplies available. Every first Wednesday of the month

• Join the Boksburg Hiking Club for a meeting at the Atlas Bowling Club on the corner of Denel North and Atlas roads, Bonaero Park. Braai fires will be ready from 5.30pm for a bring and braai and the meeting starts at 7pm. You will also be able to find out about and book upcoming hikes. Cash bar available.
