All couples entering the competition must abide by the following rules. Anyone who does not will be disqualified and no communication will be entered into in this regard.

For the purposes of this competition a “couple” refers to any partnership on the straight, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer spectrum.

Entering:

  • Only one of the people needs to live in Springs or KwaThema to be eligible to enter.

  • Those getting engaged in the current or previous month will be eligible to enter (e.g.: to enter in March you should get engaged in either February or March, to enter in April your engagement should happen in either March or April, etc.).

  • Entries will only be accepted from the couples themselves. Entries from friends and families will not be accepted.

  • By entering you accept all the rules and give permission for your photos and details of your proposal to be published in the Springs Advertiser newspaper and online on springsadvertiser.co.za and on any other digital platform used to promote the competition including, but not limited to, Facebook and Instagram.

  • The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  • Readers will vote for their favourite proposal each month on the Springs Advertiser’s Wish Upon A Wedding portal at https://www.citizen.co.za/springs-advertiser/wish-upon-wedding/ and the couple with the most votes will win that month’s prize.

  • The winner of each of the 12 monthly competitions will move into the final round in which readers will vote for the best proposal of the year.

  • Couples may only enter once – you cannot resubmit your entry for the following month if you do not win the first time you enter (e.g. if you get engaged on January 15 you can enter in either January OR February but not in both months).
