Community pools closed from Friday
Metro says there are not enough lifeguards available.
The metro has announced that all swimming pools will be closed from Friday, 6pm, and will reopen on January 2.
This is a council decision, explains Member of the Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Community Services Clr Dora Mlambo.

“The swimming pools will be closed due to the limited number of officials, including lifeguards, available during this time, as most have taken leave.
“As such, this may pose a challenge in adhering to basic health and safety requirements at the facilities,” says Mlambo.
Mlambo further says the metro acknowledges the inconvenience the closure may cause, but the health and safety of bathers are the metro’s first priority.
