Defy Goodwill Games off to good start

The Ekurhuleni Goodwill Committee is excited to announce its partnership with Supersport for the broadcast of the Defy Goodwill Games 2018.

KwaThema – The Ekurhuleni Goodwill Committee is excited to announce its partnership with Supersport for the broadcast of the Defy Goodwill Games 2018.

Head of Production Alvin Naicker confirmed they will send a crew to cover the build-ups, capture activities and lifestyles around the game venues.

“This will be a historic opportunity for teams to be exposed to television wherein the talent that will be displayed during the games can be recognised both nationally and internationally.

“We will also be honouring some of the sporting legends who contributed their lives and times in the development of sports in our communities,” explains Pule Malefane, the founder of the games.

He says the positive response from the private sector has contributed immensely to drastically reducing crime in our neighbourhoods by engaging young people in constructive activities during the festive period.

“We are also proud to have these games taking place without any incidents, which says a lot about the maturity of our people in promoting responsible behaviour during the festive season.”

The Defy Goodwill Games started on December 16 and continue until December 30 at KwaThema Sports Complex and KwaThema Stadium.

On Sunday, the senior matches pulled crowds to the KwaThema Sports Complex, and the results are as follows:
