Bhairavi Sungum of Springs celebrates Diwali with a Give-A-Tray Drive

Diwali is one of the most popular festivals in the Hindu calendar symbolising the victory of righteousness and the lifting of spiritual darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance and hope over despair.

The Bhairavi Sungum of Springs had its annual Diwali Give-A-Tray collection where they treated the children at the Chance Children’s Home on behalf of the community of Bakerton on Wednesday morning.

This was part of their celebrations of Diwali.

Hindus throughout the world celebrated Deepavali or Diwali, the festival of lights, last week Tuesday and Wednesday.

The word “Deepavali” refers to rows of clay lamps and the festival commemorates Lord Rama’s return to his kingdom Ayodhya after completing his 14-year exile.
