Municipal sports grant helps struggling association

“Now that we have enough equipment we will be motivated to attend practising sessions.”

Langaville – Geluksdal Local Football Association received sporting equipment from the Ekurhuleni Municipality on Wednesday.

They received a grant-in-aid from the municipality as part of football development in the area.

The sporting equipment was handed over to the young players in the junior soccer development teams.

Chairperson of the association Vusi Mbata says they are happy about the grant because the young players will benefit from it.

“The association was established in December 2014, running their league games from Geluksdal Stadium but because of financial constraints, we were forced to move to the informal gravel soccer grounds in Langaville.

“Through the grant, we will be able to afford to pay to use the stadium facilities,” he says.

A happy recipient, Kamva Mdakane, says he is happy about the donation because they didn’t have training gear and enough soccer balls.
