East Rand stereo and SAPS unite against crime.

Drive to reduce crime

Members of society have decided to join forces and do what they can to fight crime.

The East Rand Stereo, police service (SAPS) and Springs community police forum (CPF), have come together to work as a unit to do their utmost to combat crime in the community.

On Tuesday, the three organisations came together for a meeting at the East Rand Stereo to discuss acts of criminality within the community, and the measures to be taken to stop it.

Among the key problems that were discussed, was that community members generally do not trust the police as they should and that the trust question needed to be worked on.

The SAPS has created projects and campaigns to educate residents about the repercussions of crime, and the need to speak out against crime.

They have also organised community meetings to encourage residents to address problems they have with the police or the community.

This will assist the police to know which areas require attention, an initiative that will ultimately help the police to deal with crime.

Prof Peter van Wijk, who is the operations manager at East Rand Stereo, says that the aim is to educate and fight the scourge of crime.

To educate people about the right ways to fight against those who bring injustice to the country.

The radio station also has several campaigns and activities they intend to put in place to raise funds for the less fortunate.

They intend to identify impoverished areas to offer help and to use donations to help those in need.

The station has asked for the assistance of the police and the community to make this initiative possible and make a difference in the people’s lives.
