Thandabantu Community Care Centre goes the extra mile for Mandela Day
Community care centre continues to do good in Geduld.
Thandabantu Community Care Centre in Geduld went over and above their usual charitable work and spent Mandela Day feeding people who are less fortunate.
Gogo Mirriam Ntsele started the centre to house and take care of women and children who have no roof over their heads or food to eat.
Gogo Mirriam becomes their saving grace and welcomes them into the comfort of her home.
She feeds and clothes them and becomes a mother or grandmother to everyone living in her home.

Every Wednesday the community centre has a soup kitchen for all the homeless people in the community where they can get a warm, filling meal.
On Mandela Day, the care centre gave food to everyone and anyone who was hungry and needed a meal as a way to go the extra mile.
There was cooked food being served and there was a seating area for everyone to enjoy their meal comfortably in a joyous environment.
There was an attorney company based in Boksburg, a company that produces paper-based consumer products and nursing students from Life Springs Parkland Hospital that were there to hand over donations, lend a helping hand with cooking and dishing up, as well as play with the children.

Gogo Mirriam gets assistance from surrounding businesses and community members. They help her with food to feed the women and children, electricity and clothing on occasion.
Along with the donations, Gogo Mirriam has been and continues to farm her own fruits and vegetables.
There were many people in attendance and many people were fed and looked happy as this is not their everyday reality.
