This is a great movie for whodunnit enthusiasts and fans of crime thrillers, but be warned, you need to pay attention to keep track of everyone and each person's part in the overall plot.

Get ready for an action-packed ride with twists, turns and surprising developments.

Den of Thieves is set in Los Angeles where, if you believe what is claimed, multiple banks are robbed every day.

A team of robbers, led by Ray Merrimen, makes a violent armed attack and hijacks an armoured truck, leaving a host of casualties in their wake.

After a shoot-out with the police, Merrimen and his crew escape with an empty armoured truck.

Enter the man of the hour – and defender of justice – Detective Nick “Big Nick” O’Brien and the scene is set for an old fashioned game of cops and robbers.

O’Brien has been monitoring Merriman and his crew for a while and the theft of the empty truck, and the fact that no civilians were hurt during the robbery, confirms his suspicions that they are responsible for a host of high-end robberies over the years.

O’Brien sets off on a quest to arrest the entire team, while Merrimen puts a plan into action to rob the Federal Reserve, a feat which has never been successfully pulled off.

Suspecting a local bartender named Donnie of being involved, Nick finds him at the bar and kidnaps him for interrogation.

Donnie and Merrimen’s girlfriend are each instructed to give O’Brien snippets of false information about the planned heist, alerting them to a robbery which will be used to facilitate the Federal Reserve robbery.

So begins a game of cat and mouse between the thieves and cops.

This is a great movie for whodunnit enthusiasts and fans of crime thrillers, but be warned, you need to pay attention to keep track of everyone and each person’s part in the overall plot.

What you see is certainly not what you get in this thoroughly enjoyable film which takes the viewer on a roller coaster ride as you start, to find that first impressions are deceiving.

My advice – get it and watch it as soon as you can.

You won’t be sorry.
