“Being a Muslim School, charity forms a pivotal part of our religion and creates compassion, love and a sense of responsibility.

“The motive behind the initiative was to create compassion for the less fortunate amongst our learners and these are qualities that we wish to instil in them,” says Muniera Choughuley of Springs Muslim School.

Blankets were donated to the school by Crescent of Hope and were distributed to the pensioners in the community at The Bakerton Community Centre.

Although the blanket drive is finished for this year, those who wish to donate towards next year’s campaign must contact the school secretary on 011 733 4465 for information.
