Eleven-year-old boy held at gunpoint

A man saw his son being held at gunpoint during an armed robbery. He fled the scene when he was being shot at.

A 45-year-old man, who was asleep with his children, was robbed in Struisbult last Wednesday around 2am.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, spokesperson for the Springs police says the man heard a noise and went to investigate when he saw his 11-year-old son being pointed at with a firearm.

“The man jumped over the balcony and hid himself and the suspect shot at him,” says Ramhora.

He noticed a second suspect next to the kitchen who was also shooting and jumped over the wall and ran away.

The suspects ransacked the house and fled on foot.

No one was injured.

A case of house robbery was opened for further investigation.
