9 000 litres already collected by Hope & Halos for the Western Cape

Hope & Halos teams up with Rotary Club of Springs and various schools in a water collection drive for the Western Cape.

Hope & Halos has embarked on a water collection drive for the Western Cape.

The drive is in partnership with the Rotary Club of Springs, with Hoërskool Dr Johan Jurgens, Selcourt Pre-Primary, Selcourt Primary and Veritas College among the schools that are helping with the drive.

A generous donation of 1 800 5-litre bottles by James McCulloch from Premier Packaging means the organisation will donate more 9 000 litres of water to the Western Cape.

“We are still accepting donations for the project,” says Louise Mawhinney, the director of Hope & Halos.

“The project will go on as long as people are donating water.

“We will only send it once we have a full load.”

The organisation is appealing to people to help with the filling and packing of the containers.

Hope & Halos is also looking for pallets to load the water onto.
