Before Fame: Her school, the Montgomery Industrial School, was burned down twice by racist arsonists.

Trivia: There are two Rosa Parks days in her honour: Her birthday, February 4, and the day of her arrest, December 1.

Family Life: She married barber Raymond Parks, a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), in 1932.
