Winning start for Springs Chickens
The Springs Chickens got their year off to a winning start by beating a strong Gemengde Bende side by 45 runs in a Last Man Stands league match played at the Olympia Park Sport Grounds on Sunday, January 14.
The Springs Chickens batted first and made 175 runs in their alotted 20 overs.
In response, the Gemengde Bende only managed 130 runs in 19.3 overs for the loss of eight wickets.
In the other match played at the venue, the Leibherr Legends beat Willowmore by three runs in a tightly contested match.

The Leibherr Legends scored 144 runs for the loss of three wickets, while Willowmore could only reach 141 runs in 20 overs.
The Liebherr Legends have now cemented their lead at the top of the log with 121 points from 16 games.
Willowmore are lying second with 106 points from 16 games.
In other Last Man Stands results, The Mixers beat the Jolly Brothers by seven runs.
The Mixers made 137 in 20 overs while the Jolly Brothers made 130 runs in their allotted overs.
