I Love Springs launches at carols by candlelight evening

Bringing hope to the community is one of their main objectives

HopeHill Church in Springs hosted an I Love Springs Carols by Candlelight at the Springs Mall on Friday evening.

Pastor Sarah-Jane Grieve says I Love Springs is a platform started by the church to give the town of Springs a voice.

“As residents we are proud of our town and love the people we share it with.

“The purpose of I Love Springs is to bring hope to the people of Springs.

“Not only do we love Springs, we are proud to be part of this community and are looking forward to the future it holds,” she says.

The I Love Springs initiative was launched at the Carols by Candlelight at the Springs Mall on Friday evening.

Various local artists participated in the Carols Nativity show, including Jaryd Smith, Sarah-Jane Grieve, Chantel van Zyl and her team.

Children from HopeHill Kids Church also played a part in this exciting event and gave an entertaining performance to the audience before the carols started.

Pastors Barrett Grieve and Sarah-Jane both grew up in Springs and then lived in Cape Town for 10 years.

When they moved back to Springs a few years ago, they realised just how amazing the people of Springs are and wanted to see hope breathed into the town and surrounding communities.

How it unfolded

They started HopeHill Church one year ago and then launched I Love Springs in partnership with Badger Holdings.

Badger Holdings have been an active role player in various community initiatives over the past 20 years.

Since I Love Springs is all about community upliftment, part of the event included a stationery drive.

Stationery collected will be donated to children in need in aid of their education in 2018.

Stationery donations can be delivered at Badger Office Park 3, in Charterland Avenue, Selcourt.

“Together we can make a difference,” says Sarah-Jane.

She adds they have various fun family events planned, as well as community upliftment programmes they will focus on.

“Together as a community, our future will be bright!”
