Christmas comes early for school children in Eastvale

Early Christmas for Eastvale school children.

A few children from Morester Primary School received early Christmas gifts from Father Christmas at their school in Eastvale last Friday morning.

San van Wyk, the woman behind Jesus Outreach Feeding Scheme, donated food and gifts to 14 children.

Olga Magagula was dressed up as Father Christmas – a role she thoroughly enjoys every year.

According to van Wyk they feed about 35 children at the school throughout the year and before the school closes for the December holiday, they spoil the children with food and gifts.

Although they prepared a meal and bought gifts for 35 children, only 14 children were present.

At the event van Wyk makes sure to buy something for every child to make him or her feel special.

“I call out each child’s name after they have enjoyed a nutritious meal, to collect their gifts,” she says.

Van Wyk was accompanied by Magagula, who has helped her with this feeding project for many years.

They received donations from several sponsors who make their project worthwhile.

“Without them this feeding scheme would not be possible,” says van Wyk.

Van Wyk and her team feed the school children daily and know each child and his or her circumstances very well.

“We are privileged to be able to give each one of these children a gift to make Christmas special,” says van Wyk.
