Springs Tamil School proud of pass rate

Springs Tamil School proud of 100 per cent pass rate.

Once again the Bhairavi Sungum of Springs Tamil School has achieved a 100 per cent pass rate with distinctions.

This record has been maintained over many years.

The pupils wrote the National Tamil Examination, which was co-ordinated and administered by the head of the South African Tamil Federation’s Education Desk, Dr Bull Murugan.

During a recent awards ceremony held at the Springs Secondary School, every student was presented with trophies and gifts.

Floating trophies were awarded to learners with the highest mark in each grade.

Kaley Govender received both the Chairman’s Award and the award for best attendance.

Grade Nine learners Dinera Govender obtained 99 per cent and Shekinah Govender 100 per cent.

Vareshen Pather, a Grade Eight learner obtained 94 per cent while Sishen Singh received 96 per cent.

Kaley Chetty, who is in Grade Three received 100 per cent and Grade Two learner Tharun Pillay received 100 per cent.

Jetania Naidoo and Mayuri Pillay are both in Grade Five. Jetania obtained 98 per cent and Mayuri 100 per cent.

“All these achievements would not have been possible if it were not for their teacher Saranam Naicker,” says Poovershree Pillay, chairman of the education committee.

The Bhairavi Sungum of Springs, beside all its other activities, is focused and committed to maintaining the great Tamil language and culture.
