Doctors and Pharmacists recognised for their hard-work

Far East Rand Hospital had a special award ceremony where Doctors and Pharmacists received a token of appreciation for their hard work.

Doctors and pharmacists at the Far East Rand Hospital received a standing ovation from the executive management and colleagues, on September 20 during a special awards ceremony.

This comes after the acting CEO, Dr Nkele Lesia presented certificates of appreciation to four doctors and two pharmacists for their commitment to service delivery despite the challenges they had encountered during the past few months.

Lesia commended the group for having demonstrated the highest level of commitment, compassion and selflessness towards service delivery.

“These doctors and pharmacists didn’t let the services and patients suffer despite the difficult circumstances they found themselves in,” says Lesia.

Lesia says the doctors and pharmacists honoured their hours and overtime obligations during the difficult time they went through.

“They continued to embark on a journey of transformation with us even when the going was tough, and for that, we thank them dearly.”

Speaking on behalf of the doctors and pharmacists, an emotional Doctor Fanny Malendakana expressed gratitude to those who had showed support during the period.

“It was a difficult time for all of us but the support we received from the CEO, the clinical manager, our head of department and colleagues was heart-warming,” says Malendakana.

Malendakana says they work hard work not because of money but mainly because of the goal they have in mind. Hence they continued to serve the patients as best as they could.
