Suspects robbed house of goods

Robbers struck a house in Selcourt and got away with cash, clothes and jewellery.

Springs police are investigating a case of house robbery after three armed men held up and robbed a family of four in Roan Road, Selcourt on Tuesday.

The complainant and her two daughters were watching TV at 6pm while her son was cleaning the kitchen.

“The son went outside to throw away the refuse when he was confronted by three armed suspects,” says Capt Johannes Ramphora, SAPS spokesperson.

After the suspects ordered the family to lay down they ransacked the house.

Items taken during the robbery include five laptops, five cellphones, cash to the amount of R37 600, clothing valued at R100 000 and jewellery estimated to be R250 000 worth.

Ramphora says the suspects fled the scene on foot.
