DVD: The Space Between Us

The Space Between Us might be one of my new favourites, albeit very different from your average movie.
An exceptionally riveting tale of a Martian, a 16-year-old boy who was born on Mars, and a normal teenager from Earth who falls in love.
Gardner Elliot travels from Mars to meet Tulsa after talking via the internet and to find his father whom he has never met.
The crux of the story line is that Gardner’s body cannot sustain him on the planet for long, due to his heart being enlarged and a whole bunch of other technicalities.
Gardner and Tulsa run from those chasing Gardner after his escape from a high-security facility in search of his long lost father.
More unexpected plot twists make the story unpredictable and keep you wondering as to what will happen next.
When the movie comes to a close, the bitter-sweet ending leaves a little to be desired when he has to leave to return to his home planet and she stays behind.
But the implication that she may be following him in the near future makes you wish for a sequel to the movie.
Definitely, a movie to enjoy for a relaxed Friday night and those hopeless romantics.
