Police declare zero tolerance for robbers and shoplifters at Springs Mall

“Springs SAPS is going to take a zero tolerance approach at the Springs Mall,” says Capt Johannes Ramphora, SAPS spokesman, as 22 people were arrested.

Between the opening of the mall on March 16 to April 30, the Visible Policing Unit arrested 22 people for shoplifting and three for common robbery.

“We will patrol and monitor the mall on a daily basis,” says Ramphora.

He says they are working closely with management and all the security companies involved in order to prevent crime at the mall.
