Addie Street house robbed

A suspect armed with an iron rod gained entrance into a house in Addie Street, Selection Park, on Thursday.

According to Springs police spokesman Capt Johannes Ramphora, the domestic worker was in the kitchen when she saw the suspect entering the house at about noon.

“He was wearing red gloves and a long green T-shirt,” says Ramphora.

The suspect grabbed the domestic worker and told her to keep quiet.

Ramphora says the suspect noticed the domestic worker was not alone and shouted “catch that boy”.

The domestic worker then realised there was more than one suspect in the house, but couldn’t tell exactly how many others there were.

“The suspect searched the domestic worker, took her cellphone and covered her with a duvet cover,” says Ramphora.

When the domestic worker realised it was quiet, she went to look for the child (age unknown) and found him tied up on the staircase.
