SAPS arrest suspect , recover TV

Springs police arrested a man in Paul Krugersoord after he took a TV from a house in Cameron Street, Petersfield on Monday.

He asked the domestic worker for food and then allegedly took the TV and wrapped it in a duvet before he fled the scene.

Members of the community noticed the man walking with the wrapped TV at Frikkie Dyzel Park.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, Springs police spokesman, says the domestic worker was cleaning the house when she heard the doorbell and noticed a man asking for work and food.

She fetched the food for the suspect and while she was unlocking the security gate he pushed the door open and allegedly punched her.

Ramphora says the suspect forced the woman into the house and tied her up with rope.

“He ransacked the house and took a TV, which he wrapped in a duvet,” says Ramphora.

The suspect was taken to the police station and will appear in court soon.
