Cost-effective natural table decorations

Having the family over for Christmas is one thing but decorating the table can be a huge job.

Food needs to be cooked, presents have to be wrapped, and as if that isn’t enough, the table has to be set and look amazing.

Instead of buying decorations for the table rather make use of natural elements to reduce some of the Christmas table decoration stress.

Make the seating personal by using name cards.

These simple name cards tuck nicely into a folded napkin and a sprig of rosemary or a nasturtium flower give that festive look.

Mini wreaths can be made from cranberries and, by adding a green leaf and a small piece of paper with a name, it can be a beautiful decoration.

Thinly sliced wood stumps or cut pieces of cork can add a simple, natural touch to the table.

Don’t let napkin rings give you headaches or sleepless nights.

A piece of green leafy twig from an oak or pine tree secured around the napkin with a gold ribbon can do the trick.

Another option is cinnamon sticks and a small branch of berries secured to each napkin which will make the table look beautiful and the room smell great.

The centrepiece can also be given the natural look by collecting a few twigs, berries and pine cones and arranging them down the middle of your table.

Adding a few candles will secure an inexpensive and seasonal look.

The pine cones can even be painted in Christmas colours of red, gold and green.

These stylish ideas will add a festive touch to the table.
