Strubenvale family’s narrow escape

Strubenvale resident Werner Müller felt it necessary to warn the community of the danger lurking along the Paul Kruger Highway at night.

The Müller family had a narrow escape while driving home at 10pm on Saturday.

“I noticed someone throwing something at the vehicle,” he says.

The bag, which he believes must have contained a brick or a rock, hit the left side of the vehicle and caused damage to the side mirror.

Müller claims the person aimed for the windscreen, but he is grateful that it was only the vehicle that was damaged.

“The life of my family is important and I will not drive on the Paul Kruger Highway again,” he says.

Although he opened a case of malicious damage to property at the Springs Police Station, the area of the attack falls under the Benoni SAPS, therefore, the case had to be transferred to Benoni.

Capt Johannes Ramphora, the police spokesman, says motorists should always be vigilant when driving at night and report incidents to the police.
